So here we go:
Materials:
- 9x221 mm sticks of paper
- Your bare hands
Step by Step:
First take a stick of paper, these are sold at stores, however it is much easier and more economic to just print a pattern and just cut them yourself.
Make a knot at the top or bottom and fasten as much as you can until you get a nice pentagon shape. Try to get the least residual paper as possible as a tail, so you can easily secure it under a layer of the pentagon.
Once you've done this, fold the stick of paper around the pentagon once, and again, until all of the paper is folded around the pentagon. Try to fold it firmly but not that much, just press with your fingers with normal stenght at each fold. Again the remaining "tail" should be secured under a layer, if it is too long or too short to fit properly, just rip a little of paper.
Now is the tricky part. Take the pentagon with one hand, and "pinch" each corner with your other hand. Do it so that a 3D figuro is made. Try to pinch the adyacent corners as it will be easier. If a corner gives you the tiniest amount of troubles, leave it and work the corners around it.
And that's it. You can use these as decoration or as a present itself. Here are some patterns you can use, but you can make your own patterns too, so give it a try.
Experiment with different type of papers. And have fun :D.
